My Very Own First Date

No joke, I've never been on a date before. At the ripe old age of 26 I, a moderately successful graduate student and actress, have never been on a formal date. After emerging from string of serial monogamies, I decided: "this small Midwestern town is a little boring, why the heck not?" And that was my first mistake. Why, you might ask? Well, as I stall in having to walk down the shwanky localvore bar downtown (I'll already be 5 minutes late at this rate), the answer is pretty simple. Grad school is involved, and hard enough without having to stretch and grow as a new person. Isn't that what undergrad was for *grumps* So, in the interest of brevity because I still have to factor freaking out in front of a mirror before I start walking: 1. Dating seems stupid. And awkward. And painful. Hence we have been relative strangers. 2. What is with the whole men being expected to pay and me being expected to be grateful thing? It's 2013. The pleasure of my company is not worth a $7 beer. I'd give you the time of day for an interesting conversation. 3. This was a terrible idea. So! Here I go. Reviews to follow ; ) Kat
